We constantly look for creative thinkers who also know how to collaborate and build partnerships to influence change, harness technology to enhance processes, and continuously advance the reputation of The RMR Group. With our structure, employees can immediately affect real change when tackling business challenges. Whether finding ways to build new relationships with tenants or creating a more efficient way to analyze and evaluate real estate assets, our employees are encouraged to take initiative and given the support to have an immediate, positive impact.

Steadfast, measured growth is crucial to the ethos of The RMR Group – fostering growth in our organization, our lines of business, and most importantly, each and every employee. Employees at RMR at all levels of the organization are encouraged to push the boundaries of their knowledge, abilities and roles. Developing our employees possibilities expands RMR’s horizons.

A Tradition of Community Involvement

The RMR Group manages properties across the United States and we pride ourselves on involvement within these communities. Each year, we contribute significant resources to causes we champion. Whether organizing Thanksgiving food drives, building houses with Habitat for Humanity, donating money to deserving charities or volunteering to maintain local nature preserves, we believe that supporting our communities is both good citizenship and good business.

Diversity & Inclusion

At RMR, we believe that an inclusive workplace positions us to achieve extraordinary results. Our goal is to create fair, equitable opportunities for all employees by celebrating differences, welcoming and listening to diverse perspectives, creating new spaces for conversation and encouraging collaboration.

In addition to developing company wide programming, we have taken the following steps to strengthen our collaborative and inclusive culture at RMR:

Partnerships with Industry Groups

Partnerships with industry groups on efforts focused on introducing women, minority college and MBA students to career opportunities within real estate.

Talent Development Programs

Targeted development programs that help RMR women and minority professionals take steps to build successful careers at RMR and in the real estate industry.

Employee Learning Forums

Leadership Development Program

Nurturing the Next Generation of Leadership

At RMR, we recognize that in order to develop future business leaders, we need to create dynamic experiences to nurture that growth. As an organization, our advantage is a non-traditional approach to a standard rotational program that maximizes RMR's sustained growth and collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.

About the Program

Developed with sponsorship from Adam Portnoy, President and CEO of RMR, the Leadership Development Program (LDP) is open to recent MBA and Masters graduates and spans two years. Associates gain strategic insight into the operations and processes that drive our success through diverse assignments, mentorship from senior management and an expansive view of the real estate services industry.

An Experience Unlike Any Other

An Experience Unlike Any Other

The LDP offers exceptional opportunity for both personal and professional development. Some highlights include:

  • Executive Mentorship: Each LDP Associate is paired with an executive mentor whose expertise will heighten the process of growth and development.
  • Experiential Breadth: LDP Associates gain strategic exposure to several industries working on a variety of projects at four different companies.

Cultivating Women Leaders

At The RMR Group, we firmly believe that inclusion of women is important for development, retention and driving long term value. In conjunction with Adam Portnoy, President and CEO and led by Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Jennifer Clark, our programming provides a forum for dialogue around the issues that women face in the workplace, and the skills critical for professional success, including diversity, inclusion and empowerment. Our events have attracted hundreds of employees, both women and men, to join the discussions.

RMR Leans In

The RMR Leans In group encourages a dialogue around the growth and development of women in the workplace. Initiated by Executive Vice President Jennifer Clark and other RMR women leaders, this original steering committee subsequently expanded their outreach to support the next generation of RMR leaders through mentoring and sponsorship of their female and minority colleagues on their professional career paths. To date, the group has produced several successful events, including talks with authors Joann Lublin of The Wall Street Journal and Joe Coughlin of MIT, and discussions on unconscious gender bias, work-life balance and workplace mentorship and sponsorship.

Accelerated Women in Leadership

An example of the many positive outcomes of RMR Leans In, The Accelerated Women in Leadership Program (AWLP) provides a targeted learning experience that helps women strengthen and leverage their contribution and impact to grow professionally. Participants discuss a variety of topics including unconscious bias, integrating work and home life, and enhancing negotiation skills.
