Rob Lester

Rob Lester serves as Senior Vice President of RMR Group and as President and Chief Investment Officer of RMR Residential. In these roles, he is responsible for contributing to the overall growth, integration and success of RMR and setting the strategic vision, investment direction and platform growth for RMR’s national residential business. He leads all aspects of RMR Residential’s investment strategy - including acquisitions, portfolio management, capital formation and institutional partnerships - while overseeing performance across the platform’s growing multifamily portfolio. Mr. Lester brings more than 30 years of experience across real estate private equity, capital markets, investment banking and institutional investment management. His career spans leadership roles shaping large‑scale investment platforms, advising global institutions and executing complex transactions across multiple real estate sectors.

Before joining RMR Group in 2023, Mr. Lester served as Head of Investment Management for the predecessor to RMR Residential, where he played a central role in building and scaling the residential platform, expanding institutional relationships and developing the portfolio’s investment framework. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Blackstone, Park Hill Real Estate and Macquarie Capital, where he led advisory, investment and capital formation initiatives across diversified real estate strategies with a focused specialization in residential. Mr. Lester began his career in corporate investment banking at BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank, advising clients on healthcare, real estate, structured credit and capital markets transactions. Across his tenure, he has been widely recognized for his ability to integrate macroeconomic insight with disciplined investment execution, enabling institutions to navigate trends, capital flows and execute business growth plans.
