RMR Rings the Nasdaq Closing Bell, Celebrating 40 Years of Performance

Four decades of building through cycles

On June 16, 2026, RMR rang the Nasdaq Closing Bell, marking 40 years since the company’s founding and nearly 11 years as a publicly traded company. While the occasion was an opportunity to celebrate an important milestone, it also provided an opportunity to reflect on RMR’s evolution and the principles that continue to guide the business.

Since 1986, RMR has grown from a real estate management company into an integrated alternative asset management platform, managing publicly traded REITs, a growing private capital business and extensive operating capabilities across multiple real estate sectors. Throughout that evolution, one constant has remained: a disciplined approach to creating long-term value.

People and partnerships at the center

Our strength lies in our people and partnerships. The expertise and dedication of RMR’s employees, together with the trust of clients, investors, tenants, shareholders and business partners, have enabled the company to navigate market cycles, expand its capabilities and deliver results in a dynamic real estate environment.

During the ceremony, President and CEO Adam Portnoy reflected on the values that have supported those relationships and guided RMR through decades of change. As he noted, “Reaching 40 years in any industry is meaningful. Doing so in real estate - through economic cycles, structural change and volatility - requires discipline and adaptability. From the beginning, RMR has been defined by an ability to evolve while remaining focused on long-term value creation.”

Looking toward the next four decades

As markets evolve and investor needs become increasingly complex, RMR remains focused on leveraging its integrated platform, operational scale and industry expertise to and deliver long-term value.

Ringing the Nasdaq Closing Bell marked more than a milestone anniversary. It was a recognition of the people, partnerships and values that have shaped RMR's evolution over the past 40 years. As we look ahead, RMR remains committed to building on that foundation, deepening relationships with investors and partners, expanding its capabilities and pursuing opportunities that support sustainable growth and long-term success across its businesses.
