The RMR Group Inc. Announces 95 Property Awards

90 Buildings Managed by The RMR Group Recognized for Excellence by Government and Industry Organizations

NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The RMR Group Inc. (Nasdaq: RMR) today announced that 90 properties managed by The RMR Group LLC have been recognized recently for excellence by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Environmental Protection of Montgomery County, Maryland.

These honors were awarded between March and September 2018 to buildings managed by The RMR Group LLC, on behalf of client companies which own these buildings. The RMR Group LLC is responsible for providing all aspects of property management services to over 700 buildings with over 75 million rentable square feet of commercial office, industrial, medical office, lab and retail space.

Eighty-five properties managed by RMR achieved ENERGY STAR certification. ENERGY STAR certified buildings must meet strict energy performance standards set by the U.S. EPA. To be eligible for ENERGY STAR certification, a building must earn an ENERGY STAR score of 75 or higher, indicating that it performs better than at least 75% of similar buildings nationwide. RMR manages the ENERGY STAR programs on behalf of its client companies and RMR is an ENERGY STAR Partner.

Seven properties managed by RMR were designated as BOMA 360 Performance Buildings by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International 360 Performance Program. The BOMA 360 Performance Program® sets standards that are often referred to in the market for operational best practices in the commercial real estate industry. Earning the BOMA 360 label indicates that BOMA believes the building is outperforming the competition with regards to its operations and management.

One property managed by RMR was designated as LEED Certified Silver by the USGBC. Certification for LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a building-level certification that measures site features, water & energy efficiency, resource management and indoor environment.

One property in Rockville, MD has been recognized by the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection for its achievements in the 2018 Business Revitalized Recycling Program. This recognition is awarded to businesses and commercial properties for their efforts in revitalizing waste reduction, reuse and recycling programs.
